OUR BUNSO’S PAPER CLAY OUTPUTS

earlier this week, he bought a pack of paper clay that looks like marshmallows. at first i really thought it was a marshmallow and had a tendency to take a bite of it… actually that night, after i ate my dinner, he showed me his first masterpiece which was the panda, then a day after he did the beagle which was our mom’s request.

then after several days, he bought again another pack of the paper clay thingy, which is actually made out of white paper - a recycled material - japan product i think? then he painted the others so that it could give life to the structures rather than the first where he used pentel pen for coloring - which was not a good idea.

our bunso is really the artistic one among the 3 of us. he loves to draw (alot) more on to animals, doing stuffs like this, making animal shapes out of threads/yarns and many more, actually he’s already 17, even though these are kinda childish for his age, well i’m still a proud KUYA! he’s the only that can do this, i’m not artistic at all :P

NEW YEAR’S CATERPILLAR

before the turn-over of the year, earlier of the 31st of December, our helper’s kid was terrified when he saw one of these crawling on one of our plant box and came inside the house to get the attention of her mom, then ours. actually, when he said he saw one, that’s our cue to look for more, ‘cause for the past months our garden was infested by these before, but they were not given a chance to live long enough to be a full grown moth/butterfly. caterpillar/larvae still always a prey for monster birds or “maya’s”

surprisingly, after scavenging for other caterpillars, they were 4 that time, 2 dark red (that looks scary though), and 2 green ones. i think they portray different kinds part of the plant as part of their camouflage.

and after several days, actually around 2 days after, there is this 1 green left, and maybe others didn’t survive or been eaten by the mayas. in fact, on the 1st of January we found a red/orange one dead already and out of the plant where it was found/eating.

we kept the only one left and put it in safe container, and keep observing the life cycle of the caterpillar, and identifying if it is a moth or a butterfly. we it the change color from green to dark yellow-with black on top, and now it turned to a cocoon or pupa.

we did a research earlier, that this kind of critter is a caterpillar of moth - a OLEANDER HAWK MOTH

GLOOMY SKY FOR A RIDE
so yesterday, we celebrated Christmas day in MOA, but the first thing i noticed was their new attraction which is that big ferris wheel near seaside. well its my first time to see it, and i didn’t know that they have this already, maybe its been a long time that i’ve never been to MOA? but unfortunately, i didn’t had a chance to ride that, because we changed venue from MOA to SM Bacoor, due to the blockbuster cinema-goers. and also, i’m afraid of heights.
sadly, yesterday was not that bright day at all :’(

burp! SUPER BUSOG talaga, dami food!

(a simple birthday of Iskaterpilar…)

KOMIKON 2011

So last Saturday, I went to KOMIKON 2011 at Bayanihan Center-Unilab ~ ALONE. Even-though I have a partner from the first, but he had a commitment for his project. Fortunately I saw some former schoolmates who were there also and a comic fanatic, so i tagged myself along with them.

actually this was my first KOMIKON EVER!, there were lots of Komikon invites before and it passed me during my College days, but this was the time i’m already available and a sure fan of Filipino Komiks, especially to TRESE and FILIPINO HEROES LEAGUE

the main reason here why i really want to go to this event, well not just only to meet and greet the creators and authors, ‘cause they announced that this will be the launching of FHL book 2, and i really want to have a copy of TRESE book 4 autographed like my 1st and 2nd book by Budj Tan and Kajo. but unfortunately Paolo Fabregas himself told me that the next book of FHL will be released next year, but well I got the chance to have a lil chit-chat with him…

and right then, i’m able to avail the SKYLORD series, which is one i really want to buy after researching about ALAMAT komiks/group, and so much excited for its last series/book next year.

sadly, i had insufficient fundings that day, so even though i want to buy other stuffs and komiks, like the indie-komiks… to support our artist friends, well there will be another KOMIKON next year, and i will make sure to have lots of money then…

so let us support Filipino Komiks!
